LASIK & Intra LASIK
With the incredible technological breakthroughs in LASIK vision correction, you have no reason to live restricted by the hassles of glasses or contacts. Stop living with glasses, contacts, bifocals and readers.
LASIK (Laser in-situ Keratomileusis) is a laser treatment used to correct/reduce moderate to high levels of nearsightedness (myopia), astigmatism and farsightedness (hyperopia). LASIK surgery is the most technologically advanced method for correcting nearsightedness, astigmatism, and farsightedness. The LASIK procedure is simple: a keratome is used to gently create a flap in the cornea. In Intra LASIK, a computer-controlled, precision laser is used to create a flap and is lifted and an excimer laser is then used to shape the remaining tissue. The flap is then carefully set back into place, forming an occlusive seal by osmopic pressure. Osmopic pressure holds the flap in place and allows it to heal very quickly, without stitches.
LASIK procedure is comfortable compared to other types of refractive surgeries and you can get an almost immediate improvement in vision following the LASIK procedure.

LASIK Surgery Benefits
Millions of LASIK procedures are performed all over world, and the safety and effectiveness of the surgery is now unquestionable. If you had stable vision for the past year and have no abnormalities that could affect healing (such as severe diabetic eye disease) then you can happily go ahead with LASIK, you will get good result from LASIK.
Generally, the laser is applied to each eye for less than one minute. The corneal flap is then folded back into place, where it adheres to the eye naturally and securely. LASIK patients are often able to see the change in their vision just a few hours after surgery.
LASIK patients experience a quick recovery with minimal downtime and benefit from a reduced or eliminated need for glasses or contact lenses. In addition, many LASIK patients also enjoy enhanced quality of vision after their surgery, resulting in vision that is sharp and clear.
You may notice that your vision will be a little blurry immediately following your LASIK or IntraLASIK procedure. This bluriness will gradually clear in the next few hours. You may watch TV or read as long as you continue to wet them frequently every five to ten minutes. It is important to avoid wind or any type of air turbulence that would cause your eyes to dry out.

University of Maryland researchers suggest that carotenoids, particularly lycopene may protect the eye against oxidative damage and play a critical role in visual function. The identification of lycopene and a diverse range of dietary carotenoids in ocular tissues suggest that these carotenoids, as well as other nutrients found in tomato-based foods, may work in concert with lutein and zeaxanthin to provide protection against age related macular degeneration and other visual disorders.
